Job summary

West Hampshire CAMHS Early Help Service are looking for a Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist to join our team as a band 7 Senior Primary Mental Health Worker to the 31st May 2024 to cover maternity leave. You will need to be registered with your governing body and have relevant experience.

You will be joining and helping lead a friendly, supportive and creative multi-disciplinary team, dedicated to providing a high-quality service to our young people.

Your base can be in Ashurst, Eastleigh or Andover with the opportunity for a blended approach to working.

The service is going through an exciting transformation, introducing a new model of stepped care within the service. The post holder will support the development and delivery of the stepped care pathway. The post holder will also work within the Single Point of Access, helping support the "front door" into CAMHS, referral, consultation and advice. The post holder will need to work in fast paced environment, but will be well supported to do so.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide supervision and leadership to other members of the Primary Mental Health workforce.
  • To be part of the Primary Mental Health Work leadership team and participate in the development of the service
  • To provide a community based primary mental health service for children and young people as part of the primary tier of CAMHS.
  • To work in the Single Point of Access.
  • To offer consultation and advice to primary care workers on all aspects of mental health and well being of children and their families.
  • To direct children and their families to the most appropriate service in order to meet their emotional needs.
