Job summary
The post holder will provide the highest standards of food preparation, hygiene and temperature monitoring of food without constant supervision, and be able to work as part of a team.
To also observe current Health & Safety Regulations, and strictly adhere to the control of Substance Hazardous to Health (COSHH) policy and the Current Food Hygiene Regulations.
Main duties of the job
- Prepare and wash salad items, package, label in accordance the regulations regarding allergens/nutrition
- Preparation works for sandwich fillings to be carried out, ensuring all items are labelled and reflect correct use by date.
- Prepare sandwich orders and label correctly in accordance to regulations regarding allergens/nutrition, and correct use of use by dates
- To assist in the portioning control area, by measuring/weighing food into containers, sealing containers, labelling and ensure strict temperature controls are maintained during this process.
- To ensure food labelling that reflects ingredients and food intolerances are correct before disruption
- Deep cleaning ward Kitchens weekly

- To maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene whilst handling food
- To comply with the relevant legislation including the Food Safety Act 1999
- To comply/observe the current Health & Safety Regulations
- Adhere to the control of Substance Hazardous to Health policy (COSHH)
