Job summary
This is the second year of these exciting 'recruit to train' positions across Sussex which are being offered as part of our transformation of community mental health services. The posts are being commissioned by NHS England to improve access to psychological therapies for adults and older people with severe mental health problems.
This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidates to develop their mental health expertise and focus on delivering evidence-based therapies to those who need them and are experiencing psychosis.
Successful candidates will be employed on a Band 6 salary for 2 years while studying for a Postgraduate Diploma in CBT for Severe Mental Health Problems, specialising in psychosis. We have a total of 3 posts, one for each of West Sussex, Brighton & Hove and East Sussex.
After successfully completing the training you will be guaranteed a post as a Band 7 psychological therapist in CBT. This course is accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) at level one. Whilst you are studying on this course, you will receive academic support & teaching from Southampton University and be part of our excellent, well-established and supportive psychological therapy services in Sussex, that are integrated into local community mental health teams.
We anticipate a strong interest in these vacancies so the window for applications will be short.
Main duties of the job
While you are training you will be part of a multidisciplinary mental health team providing intervention and support to people with complex needs. You will be offering cognitive behavioural therapy for adults & older people, specialising in psychosis. You will work closely with colleagues from psychology and psychological therapies, as well as from other mental health disciplines.
To protect the health and safety of our staff/workers, patients, and those attending our sites, we encourage our workforce to get fully vaccinated against COVID
