Job summary

Ever wanted to gain experience in CAMHS services? We are looking for a ward manager to join our compassionate and friendly in-patient team within our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).

This is an exciting developmental opportunity to gather experience of a Band 7 Team Leader role, in order to assist your future career progression.

You will receive a full induction to the team leader role and will work alongside the inpatient Matron to develop your skills, knowledge and experience in this role.

You will have the opportunity to develop skills in a number of areas, including managing and leading a team; involvement in clinical decision making with the MDT; monitoring standards of care and addressing deficits that may arise; involvement in ward-based QI project; reviewing incidents and patient/carer feedback.

We have an experienced team and work collaboratively with eating disorder services, paediatric wards and our school which we have on-sight, so our young people have access to educational services.We want you to be a part of our upcoming projects to help continue to strive for more success.

Main duties of the job

If you have not previously worked in CAMHS, don't worry! Many of your skills from other acute settings will be transferable and we will provide training to meet any learning needs identified in your appraisal.

We are looking for a positive, resilient, compassionate, enthusiastic individual with highly-developed organisational and interpersonal skills to lead our ward team in delivering an exceptional standard of care to our patients.

The successful candidate will have the interest and aptitude to develop their managerial and leadership skills whilst running a busy ward.

You will be closely supported by our Clinical Nurse Specialist, Matron, Nurse consultant and general manager, in order to lead the nursing team in maintaining high standards of care, providing evidence based practice, and implementing practice development initiatives.
