Job summary
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to form part of a new team taking the Sussex Discovery College on the next stage of its development. This role will provide clinical perspective and input into the running of the college and its courses and influence the strategic direction for the college.
Main duties of the job
This role will use clinical skills, knowledge and experience to co design and codeliver a diverse offer of learning programmes that encourage and enable recovery and will act as a clinical specialist /expert within the team where appropriate. The role will provide leadership and day to day management of courses ensuring clinicians are successfully inducted and supported in their teaching work with the college. To contribute to and facilitate Recovery College delivery including coproduction and codelivery of group face to face sessions and online / blended courses.

- Relevant health professional body registration (or working towards)
- Practice in education training
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

- Significant experience as a registered health professional working with clients with a range of mental health difficulties
- Experience of supervising staff
- Experience of multidisciplinary work with a sound understanding of the value, contribution and remit of the different clinical professions working within mental health services
- An understanding and empathy with issues relating to mental health and learning disability
- An understanding of 'behaviour as communication'
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of key issues and legislation within the NHS and/or other public sector organisations
