Job summary
We are currently recruiting to 4 band 6 posts for a Social Worker/ RMN or OT to join our team. You will be required to complete family assessments where mental health / substance misuse / domestic abuse / sexual risk is a significant feature of family difficulties and identify the impact of these on children. We have two posts that will sit in the Mental health theme of Swift and two that will be in the child theme of Swift. In the Child theme you will work with age group 11 to 18/ in the mental health theme you will work with over 18's. You will work alongside Children's Services in creating care plans which address the impact of parental mental health / substance misuse / domestic abuse / sexual risk on the family. You will utilise a holistic range of interventions to improve parenting and reduce the impact of the parental issues on dependent children thus improving the outcome for those children.
Main duties of the job
Swift is based in Eastbourne and Hastings and you will be required to travel around East Sussex to complete assessments and interventions with clients.
You will need to be flexible and adaptable with strong communication skills you will be joining a committed and dynamic team and will be fully supported and empowered to make a difference to creatively develop many new ways of working, towards building safe and responsive quality services. The focus of this role is to provide holistic assessments and interventions to families who are open to children services, where there is also a feature of domestic abuse / sexual risk with family difficulties and identify the impact of these on children. To work alongside colleagues in substance misuse, mental health and Children's Services in creating care plans which address the impact of parental mental health / substance misuse / domestic abuse / sexual risk on the family. To utilise a holistic range of interventions to improving parenting and reduce the impact of the parental issues on dependent children thus improving the outcome for those children. You will also have access to specialist in house training to further enhance your existing skill set and CV that will support the Public Law Outline memorandum.
About us
You will be a registered Nurse or Social worker with current registration and 5 years minimum post registration experience. You will provide expert specialist mental health/ drug and alcohol practice to SWIFT across East Sussex and hold a complex clinical caseload within the designated care group; You will provide a high quality clinical service to parents and their families where you will assess and deliver interventions/ consultations for parental mental health/ substance misuse/ domestic abuse and sexual risk. You will provide a duty response to Children's Services to cases in need of urgent clinical support in line with requests from your manager. You will contribute to the achievement of high-quality standards of care and have a strong focus on MDT working. You will support the manager of the Substance misuse theme (Adult) with ensuring governance and evidence based best practice.
