Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated clinician to join the clinical team at SEDS (Sussex Eating Disorder Service) to cover SEDCAS East Sussex areas. We are keen to hear from experienced band 5-6 nurse's and OT's who would like to transfer their existing skills into a new specialist area.

You will be working alongside experienced clinicians who will support you to engage in psychological therapy training such as CBT-E, SSCM (Specialist Supportive Clinical Management) and also advanced physical health assessment. Training will be provided to all new staff. This is an exciting time to be part of a developing, established team with a number of service transformation projects in progress.

You will be supported by the Nurse Consultant currently in post.

Main duties of the job

To be part of the multidisciplinary team providing a specialist Eating Disorder Service across a Sussex localityTo provide specialist assessment and intervention, offering advice and consultation to colleagues in ATSs, GPs, Acute Trusts, carers and others.To review and assess all referrals to specialist eating disorder services advising referrers on the appropriate course of action in line with team discussion and policy.To monitor and report on progress of out of area placements and ensure robust follow-up care is in place in preparation for service user's return to local services.To be responsible for own clinical caseload and casework co-worked with mental health team

There is in-house training and supervision for all the NICE guidelines recommended interventions for eating disorders.

As a team, we deliver evidence-based and evidence generating practice and research is encouraged. Alongside your clinical nurse specialist role, we would support you to develop individual interests or specialties relevant to eating disorders settings and to grow in a direction that works for you and the service. As a senior member of the team you would be expected to take a lead role in the management of urgent high-risk referrals and assessments often liaising with acute Trusts and MHLTs.
