Full Time - Substantive Band 7 - Psychologist - CAMHS Eating Disorder Intensive treatment Day Service
Exciting new opportunity in Brighton & Hove, Sussex
Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation trust is looking to recruit a passionate, knowledgeable and dynamic Clinical Psychologist to join our new CAMHS Eating Disorder Day service.
We have recently received new substantive funding to set up this servcie. It will be located at a newly refurbished Aldrington House (Hove). The clinical model is in development and will be based on the highly acclaimed Maudsley Intensive Treatment programme. The service will have capacity to support 10 young people each day. Key service aims include:o Supporting young people and families through a comprehensive 14 week group programme, entailing family therapy, CBT based groups, life skills and supported eatingo Prevention of need for an inpatient admission thereby allowing young people to eb treated closer to home
You would be part of a brand-new MDT, consisting of nursing, psychology, dietician, support workers, medics and Occupational Therapists. This role will be supported by the 8a Clinical Psychologist in the service.Knowledge of Eating Disorders and CAMHS is essential. Our selection process will be based upon experience and values
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate would be responsible for providing a specialist psychology service to the Eating Disorder Day Service for Children and young people with serious eating disorders and their families as well as providing specialist psychological assessment, formulation intervention (using a wide range of clinical models/approaches) and consultation.
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing individual and groupwork and will provide supervision and professional support to relevant colleagues. You will guide service development through service evaluation and audit, as well as bringing new insights through research and keeping up to date with developments in the field.
Ideally you will have prior experience of working with eating disorders and experience of using therapeutic models associated with this client group.
