Job summary

Exciting opportunities for EMHPs and CWPs wishing to expand their experience into Higher Education working on innovative new courses at the University of Sussex

We are looking for Education Mental Health Practitioners/Children Wellbeing Practitioners or equivalent with an interest in developing further skills in teaching and supervision. You will have the opportunity to prepare, co-deliver and evaluate training on the Sussex University Post Graduate Certificate Children's Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP), the Post Graduate Diploma in Education and Mental Health Practice (EMHP) and the associated Post Graduate Certificate in Supervision. You will also have access to CPD opportunities. You will have an Education Mental Health Practice/Children's Wellbeing Practice qualification or the equivalent and have experience of working with Children and Young People. You may have had some experience of being a supervisor and be keen to develop your skills further.

You will be based within Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Psychological Professions directorate and work at the University of Sussex.

Main duties of the job

To work as a member of the Therapeutic Courses team providing high quality support to the provision of the Post Graduate Certificate in Children's Wellbeing Practice, Post Graduate diploma in Education Mental Health Practice and PG Cert Supervision courses at The University of Sussex.

To deliver practical and theoretical teaching support in core clinical skills and other aspects of service user care, contributing to lectures, tutorials, seminars and supervision as required.

To promote and maintain excellent standards of clinical practice, multi-disciplinary team working, effective communication, specific evidence based psychosocial interventions and recovery-oriented care.

To collaborate with and develop effective working partnerships with other members of the Therapeutic Practices academic team as well as CAHMS and Mental Health support Teams to assist in the delivery of education and training in core clinical skills and Whole school approaches

To facilitate the development and acquisition of skills and knowledge within a multi-disciplinary educational context.

The post holder will promote a proactive approach to education, learning and maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and The University of Sussex.
