Job summary

The New Forest CAMHS team are seeking an experienced Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist for 30 hours per week (WTE 0.8) with an opportunity to increase hours if desired across the wider service.

Your role will be to provide specialist assessments and nursing interventions to children and young people with complex mental health needs and those who have been referred for ADHD assessments and those open for medication monitoring within ADHD clinic. You will be expected lead on the development of the ADHD clinic and supervise junior staff to carrying out physical observations and reviews, and will work closely with our psychiatry colleagues.

In addition to your specialist NMP role, you will support the work of the wider team by contributing to the duty clinician rota, offering initial assessments, and there will be opportunities to facilitate groups and/or hold a small caseload for care coordination.

As a senior clinician, you will support the development of junior staff and students through supervision and acting as a practice assessor or supervisor.

Previous CAMHS experience, with excellent communication, engagement and assessment skills are essential.
