Part - Time - Substantive Band 7 Specialist Dietitian - CAMHS Eating Disorder Intensive treatment Day Service

Exciting new opportunity in Brighton & Hove, Sussex

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation trust is looking to recruit a passionate, knowledgeable and dynamic Dietitian to join our new CAMHS Eating Disorder Day service.

We have recently received new substantive funding to set up this service. It will be located at a newly refurbished Aldrington House (Hove). The clinical model is in development and will be based on the highly acclaimed Maudsley Intensive Treatment programme. The service will have capacity to support 10 young people each day. Key service aims include:

  • Supporting young people and families through a comprehensive 14-week group programme, entailing family therapy, CBT based groups, life skills and supported eating
  • Prevention of need for an inpatient admission thereby allowing young people to be treated closer to home

You would be part of a brand-new MDT, consisting of nursing, psychology, support workers, medics and Occupational Therapists.

This role requires leadership and supervisory experience and will include service development opportunities.

We have close links with First Community Health and Care Dietetics Service who have excellent supervision and CPD structures.

Knowledge of Eating Disorders and CAMHS is essential. Our selection process will be based upon experience and values

Main duties of the job

The role requires a high level of clinical and professional expertise in order that clients and their carers benefit from a well-coordinated pro-active, specialist, efficient and effective Dietetic treatment. The service includes individually tailored therapy and management, training, advice and a consultative approach. Input is predominantly on a one on one basis but consultation and training may be provided to train staff as required. In addition to direct client management the role requires input at a strategic level, management of junior Dietetic colleagues and day to-day management of the Dietetic Patients Referrals.

Covid-19 full vaccination may be a condition of employment for this role, unless an exemption applies. The successful applicant may have contact with vulnerable service users and we will therefore seek proof of being fully vaccinated during the recruitment process.
