Job summary

The Selden Centre is a modern purpose designed 10 bed inpatient assessment and intervention service for people with learning disabilities. Its fundamental aim is to support people back to community living. The multi-disciplinary team provides a high quality service for individuals with learning disabilities who require expert intensive assessment, intervention and support.

Our team offer individualised support with opportunities for 1:1 therapeutic sessions to men and women who are referred into the service because of:

  • escalating needs in the community;
  • placement breakdown requiring reassessment of needs;
  • or step down from a more secure and /or high cost residential/ hospital service.

We believe that people with learning disabilities have the same rights as all members of society and that's why we place the people who use our services at the heart of what we do.

Covid-19 full vaccination may be a condition of employment for this role, unless an exemption applies. The successful applicant may have contact with vulnerable service users and we will therefore seek proof of being fully vaccinated during the recruitment process.

Main duties of the job

The Selden centre is looking for a staff nurse to join its motivated and dynamic team.

Do you want to experience what it's like working in an Assessment and Treatment unit with adults with Learning disabilities?

We welcome newly qualified nurses, return to practice nurses and experienced nurses who are looking for a change within their current roles.

We work hand in hand with partner agencies and care managers to identify suitable future placements that meet the individual's identified care and support needs for the future once they are discharged from our service.

Our service has been rated as 'Good' by the Care Quality Commission and we are current winner of clinical team of the year.
