Job summary
Connolly House is a dynamic 14 bed inpatient Recovery Unit for Service Users experiencing Psychosis.
An exciting opportunity has come up for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the team at Connolly House.
The role will involve working alongside the multidisciplinary team in the assessment, planning and treatment of patients following the NICE guidelines for psychosis.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual who is able to build effective working relationships and be able to demonstrate a commitment to client centred practice.
We offer a commitment to support staff with regular supervision and CPD; an opportunity to gain specialist experience in recovery based practice; support to undertake training and professional development opportunities.

Main duties of the job
The care and treatment of patients under the care of Connolly House.
To act as Primary Nurse to coordinate patient care.
Monitor patient progress and communicate with the Multidisciplinary team.
Medication management and monitoring of side effects.
To monitor the physical health of patients.
To offer and signpost psychological support.
Run groups and activities.
Supervision of staff.
Mentorship of students.

- Registered Nurse with current registration (mental health / LD/ Adult) appropriate to the job role.
Knowledge

- Knowledge of MHA (1983/2007)
- Knowledge of Mental Capacity Act (2005), to include practical knowledge of FACE documentation, DOLS and Best Interest decisions.
- Child and Adult safe guarding procedures.
- Change management, organising and prioritising workloads
- Demonstrate ability to enhance care through evidence based knowledge.
- Demonstrate professional development relevant to the care group
