Job summary

To provide expert clinical leadership and support in all matters relating to nursing and practice within the immunisation group.Advise and liaise with the Immunisation project manager and lead nurse PH and IPC with regard to any Immunisation issues from within the care as an experienced advanced practitioner, the post holder will be expected to create an environment of continuous quality improvement, clinical practice and ensuring that delivery of care is regularly reviewed. To ensure the safe and transparent recording of vaccinations administers. To support the development and implementation of standard operating procedures to ensure the safe delivery and administration of vaccines from receipt to administration.

Covid-19 full vaccination may be a condition of employment for this role, unless an exemption applies. The successful applicant may have contact with vulnerable service users and we will therefore seek proof of being fully vaccinated during the recruitment process.

Main duties of the job

  • To develop good working relationship with external organisations where connection is required to ensure patient's physical health is at the forefront of their care.
  • To clinically lead on the planning and delivering of the immunisation programme and work with other colleagues working in the immunisation team.
  • To ensure that planning and actions on immunisation and other physical health projects are directly connected to Trust's strategy.
  • To write clinical protocols where required in support of immunisation and other physical health clinical programmes
  • Complete annual Appraisals for all staff which reflect these priorities and ensure staff have access to appropriate training and development

About us

A new and exciting opportunity has become available for an Immunisation Matron within Sussex Partnership Foundation NHS Trust. The role will provide key leadership of the immunisation programme across the Trust providing clinical and operational management. The post holder will also work within the Physical Health and Infection Control service supporting the clinical leadership of the team. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who can demonstrate a positive, flexible style and approach. Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills are essential to this role along with experience of delivering an immunisation programme.
