We are seeking a self-motivated, dynamic and forward-thinking person who would ideally be a qualified professional, to join our Clinical Governance Team to lead the PMVA team. The role will support the Reducing Restrictive Practice Lead and the Associate Director of Nursing agenda across the organisation. The role will lead on areas relating to reduction of violence and aggression, reducing the use of restrictive practices and search.

Main duties of the job
The role will provide support across the Patient Safety Agenda as directed by the Reducing Restrictive Practice Lead & the Associate Director for Nursing
The role will lead the delivery of the Trusts PMVA Training and Conflict Resolution Training
The role will provide direct line management to junior members in the PMVA team
Act as a subject matter expert, lead, develop and audit a system for the safe detection and removal of contraband items and safe management of Class A, Class B drugs and Psychoactive Substances in line with the Mis-use of Drugs Act and the Mis-use of Psychoactive Substances Act
Ensure all policies in relation to reducing restrictive practices, prevention and management of violence and aggression, search of property and person, disposal of alcohol, controlled and illegal substances and psychoactive substances, are in line with national guidance and are reviewed when any changes are necessary.
The role will be a key member of the Reducing Restrictive Interventions Governance Group to develop and maintain the governance infrastructure surrounding PMVA and reduction in the use of physical interventions.
The role will monitor and follow up all incidents in relation to violence & aggression, use of restrictive practices, and any contraband reported on the Trusts electronic reporting systems.
The role will attend any relevant Trust committees & working groups and provide regular reports to the Governance Team on compliance within scope of practice.
