Job summary
We are seeking to recruit a skilled, knowledgeable and dynamic Lead for our community of Art / Play and Creative Therapists to join our CAMHS Service across East Sussex, Brighton and Hove.
This is a full-time role; however, job share or part time interest will be considered.
The current Art / Play / Creative community within CAMHS is made up of around 15-20 clinicians in designated and non-designated posts occupying posts in Generic / Specialist and Crisis Service in East Sussex / West Sussex / Brighton & Hove.
You will be joining a friendly, supportive and creative multi-disciplinary team, dedicated to providing a high-quality service which complements the work done by our wider CAMHS colleagues and in liaison/partnership with other key young people's services. Our core business includes assessing young people's mental health, including attention to risk management and care planning, and working with families and the wider systems that support these young people.
This is an exciting time to join Sussex CAMHS as we have begun to implement the transformation agenda increasing therapeutic offers to young people as well as further developing both out acute service model and advanced responses to neurodevelopmental conditions. We are also in the process of developing a stepped care model to respond to young people's ever evolving needs.
Main duties of the job
As the Lead for Art/Play/Creative Therapists you will be based in East Sussex with some discussion regarding physical environment, one option includes the Aldrington Centre, Hove. This post is full time (37.5 hours per week).This post will be 0.6 WTE working clinically and 0.4 WTE covering the Sussex Leadership role.
As the Lead for this group of Professionals, you will oversee and support the governance hierarchy across Sussex.You will maintain the Supervision structure, providing Supervision, CPD and training opportunities to uphold professional registration. You will also be expected to provide a high level of clinical expertise for complex cases that present for assessment and treatment to the service. This may include intensive therapeutic support and managing a caseload of complex cases from a range of clinical pathways including LAC, Attachment &Trauma, Anxiety & Depression, and Early Personality presentations.

- An approved post graduate / Masters level qualification (or equivalent) in a recognised psychological therapy , leading to recognised professional accreditation in Psychoanalytic or Psychodynamic Psychotherapy or Group Analysis (BPC, UKCP, BAP, BACP), Systemic Family Therapy (AFT or UKCP), Child Psychotherapy (ACP), Art Therapy (HCPC), Play Therapy (BABT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (BABCP), or Psychotherapeutic Counselling (BACP or UKCP).
- Professionally registered as a psychological therapist with relevant registration body
