Job summary

As a Senior Assessment Practitioner in our service you will be working as part of a Multi-disciplinary team (MDT) including social workers, psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists and medics. You will work with people with severe and enduring mental health problems, providing specialist interventions. We encourage knowledge sharing and teamwork so all team members are involved with the full range of best practice interventions. You will benefit from regular caseload reviews and we are currently developing family interventions within our service, with plenty of opportunities for you to become involved.

Main duties of the job

To take a lead on clinical matters relating to practice.
To provide clinical leadership.
To be part of recruitment and selection process of staff.
To be aware of care group and Trust policies and protocols within nursing and Nursing Strategy.
To develop and participate in the delivery of a supervision structure for team members.
To monitor the caseload and practice of staff and others in Team.
To be part of a Team Leadership for ongoing support and development.
To take a lead on audits within the team.

We work with adults living with mental illness, supporting their recovery and the development of skills and strategies to support them to maintain their wellbeing. Job responsibilities

The post holder will provide a high volume of specialist assessments and short-term interventions to patients within Crawley ATS, and take a lead role in managing a Duty system and clinical reviews, participate in review of clinical policies and guidelines relevant to the area and support and implement changes to practice; liaise with other organisations and professionals to promote communication and good practice; be able to undertake audit activity and supervision to other staff in service area/care group. Have an understanding of psychosocial interventions to include psycho-education, wellness recovery action plans, risk management and discharge planning.
