An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Diabetes Specialist Nurse AFC band 6 to join our Diabetes & Endocrine Specialist Nursing Service. Are you an experienced nurse with an interest in Diabetes wanting to enhance your knowledge and skills in all aspects of diabetes management. You should have at least 2 years experience, with excellent communication skills to provide a high standard of clinical care within a hospital setting
We require a motivated and enthusiastic nurse to supplement our multi disciplinary team. We will provide support, training and guidance to enhance your skills within the role of a Diabetes Specialist Nurse.
Main duties of the job
Assess, plan and implement treatment plans for people with diabetes whilst an inpatient. Contribute to the organisation and delivery of specialist education and training to other health care professionals, carers on all aspects of diabetes management. To have the ability to work autonomously in the provision of a specialist, evidence based and high quality service for people with diabetes. and with the support of nursing and medical colleagues.
You will work closely with the Consultants, Clinical Nurse Specialists and other multidisciplinary team members, playing an important role in the delivery of effective care and management of inpatients with diabetes, and some aspects of outpatient care.
You must be able to work autonomously, organise your workload effectively and adapt to, as well as drive change at a local level.
