Job summary

The Chai Centre in Burnley has always been a focal part of the local community, providing health and advisory services and a place to drop in and chat. Lancashire & South Cumbria Foundation Trust will be gradually re-opening the Chai Centre more over the coming months, and we are looking for volunteers to support us and the community.

Please note that although the advert may say a contract of 1 year, as a volunteer you are free to volunteer for longer, or shorter, than that.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for volunteers to support us as we re-launch this site. We have a number of volunteer roles we will be offering, which will be phased in over the coming months, and these are:

Meet & Greet Volunteer

Café Volunteer

Garden Volunteer

Recovery College @Chai Volunteer

Details of these roles can be found in the Role Description which is attached to the advert. These roles will be phased in over the coming months as The Chai Centre develops, and we are planning to introduce the Meet & Greet role and Recovery College role first. However, we are also taking applications for the other roles, so we can start the recruitment process and have volunteers ready to start when they are needed. All Volunteers supporting at the Chai Centre will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check. There is no cost to a volunteer for a DBS application.

Alternatively, application forms can be picked up from the main reception at The Chai Centre. Applications can be returned directly to the Volunteer Service or they can be dropped off at The Chai Centre. Please indicate on your application form which role you are applying for or would prefer.
