Job summary

We are looking for a Registered Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist, ideally with some recent experience working with children and young people with mental health difficulties or experience in working within Mental Health. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, self-motivating, have the ability to case manage and will display excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to establish good working relationships essential to the success of the service.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team within Child and Young Peoples Mental Health Service (CYPMH). As part of the team you will take a role in delivering high quality service provision that promotes and improves the mental health and well-being of children and young people, their families and carers. Working within a systemic and holistic framework you will undertake needs led, evidence based, assessments and therapeutic interventions to children and young people, their families and carers, who present to the service. These assessments will also include young people needing support due to deliberate self-harm. You will be supported by senior members of the team within this role.

Main duties of the job

1. Work within the THRIVE model of prevention and promotion of positive emotional health and well-being in addition to acute mental health intervention. This role will mainly work with children and young people in the 'Getting Help' domains of the model.2. Develop good working relationship with children, young people and their families to promote collaborative working partnerships with children, young people, their families and other professionals.3. Undertake the role of Case Manager and manage a defined caseload of children and young people with emotional and mental health needs.

4. Have detailed understanding of the Mental Health Act, the Children's Act, Gillick Competency, Human Rights Act, Mental Capacity Act any other legislation relevant to the role.
