Senior Staff Nurse
The closing date is 03 December 2025
Job summary
Some exciting opportunities have arisen across the female adult service lines at the Harbour for highly motivated and professional RMNs to join the wards as Band 6 Clinical Lead. In coming into these roles, the successful candidates will join an already established leadership team and will have opportunity to develop their leadership skills in a supportive environment.
The successful candidate will bring excellent role modelling skills, a passion for supporting and developing junior colleagues, including student nurses and preceptors, and they should have a keen interest in quality improvement projects that can lead to improvements in patient care and staff wellbeing.
You should bring with you experience of nursing people with acute mental health needs, as well as some experience of providing high quality supervision, an awareness of not just how to complete an audit but what to do with the data an audit provides us with, and be keen to develop your own skills once in post.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to work across a shift pattern, being part of a team that provides 24/7 care and treatment to female service users with acute mental health needs. There will be occasions when you may need to support other wards, including our 136 suite, and older adult wards.
Responsibilities will include providing meaningful clinical and managerial supervision to staff within the team; supporting and developing learners in practice; completion of audits and dissemination of information associated with these; supporting and leading on quality improvements; engaging with patients to support recovery, including leading on dialog+ assessments; ensuring that the clinical environments meet high infection control and cleaning standards; representing the ward at meetings which may involve preparing and presenting reports.
