Job summary
Are you passionate about male services? Are you looking to develop your career in male's services in a mental health inpatient setting? A great opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiatic, individual with a caring and friendly attitude, to work as a Health care Support worker (HCSW) on our male acute wards at the Harbour.
You must be able to provide a keen interest in supporting individuals whilst maintaining high professional standards, demonstrating commitment to team work.
You will need to possess excellent interpersonal skills, and is commited to the care of individuals. You will have a supportive induction and a fantastic opportunity to enhance and learn new skills.
The successful post holder will be expected be able to rotate across the specialty areas and be able to work shifts covering 24 hours, seven days a week.
Main duties of the job
o Ensure a friendly and helpful attitude to patients, visitors and colleagues, at all times.o Enable patients to maintain contacts in the community.o Maintain effective working relationships with the multidisciplinary team.o Provide verbal feedback to colleagues regarding patient presentation during for example, handover.o To attend and participate in handoverso Interacting with patients which may involve providing information and using skills to overcome barriers in an empathic and reassuring manner
