Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a forward thinking, highly motivated and dedicated Service manager for the Early Intervention Service (EIS) across the Lancashire & South Cumbria footprint. The post holder will be responsible for the operational management of the EIS across the four Networks in the Trust, which is hosted within The Bay Network.

The successful applicant will ensure EIS deliver patient pathways that meet all quality and operational performance targets and that these are monitored and tracked. The post holder will lead, develop and manage teams within their portfolio to ensure the services provide high quality care to service users.

The service provides a specialist community based assessment and treatment service for children and adults presenting with first episode psychosis (FEP) for up to 3 years or an at risk mental state for up to 12 months, between the ages of 14 and up to 65. FEP is a term used to describe the first time a person experiences a combination of problems, such as distressing voices, visions, paranoia or other seemingly unusual experiences. Typically, before a first episode of psychosis many people will experience a period of unusual experiences, which is described as having an 'at risk mental state (ARMS). The service is for those with FEP or ARMS.

Main duties of the job

We are keen to seek someone who can demonstrate evidence of leadership in care that facilitates a positive culture of patient engagement, a commitment to enhance the service user and carer experience and promote an environment that facilitates continued staff professional development. You must have the ability to positively influence and adapt to a rapidly developing service that is able to meet the needs service users and carers. You should also be able to demonstrate a commitment to supporting engagement with service users and carers to support service development.

We also are looking for someone who will be able to reflect and uphold the LSCFT values of being kind, respectful, working as part of a team and always learning. Experience of working within the EIS pathway is desirable. The base of the post will be confirmed with the successful applicant.
