Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust are seeking an enthusiastic, committed individual to join the Database Administration Team to provide professional expertise ensuring Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trusts Microsoft SQL estate is reliable, resilient and secure.

Main duties of the job

The overall aim of the role:

- Develop, manage and maintain LSCFT complex Microsoft SQL environments.- Analyse and optimise the various LCFT Microsoft SQL 2016, 2019 and 2022 environments.- Provide expert technical guidance and advice to LSCFT staff on SQL technologies and other trust database software.- Deputise for the trust Senior SQL Database Administrator.- Develop and maintain trust Microsoft SQL high availability estate including failover clustering, Always on Availability Groups and Replication.- Develop and maintain technical documentation for the LSCFT Microsoft SQL Server estate.- Liaise with 3rd party suppliers and provide support and expertise for installing and maintaining these systems.- When required act as SQL technical lead on LSCFT projects.

  • Educated to Degree Level or equivalent experience of working in a similar role gaining the specialist knowledge and skills listed below.
  • Relevant IT qualification e.g. Microsoft Certification, ITIL Foundation or working towards Microsoft Certification.

  • Thorough specialist working knowledge of Microsoft SQL server 2016, 2019 and 2022.
  • Knowledge of using, installing and supporting Microsoft Operating Systems
