Job summary

To participate as a member of the Occupational Therapy (OT) service assisting with specified duties and taking some responsibility for his/her own work within a broad framework laid down by an OT.

The post will require specialised expertise and involve responsibilities over and above those normally expected of an OT Assistant.

As part of the OT Service the job holder will be required to work in the Men's Service at Guild Lodge.

The jobholder will also be required to provide individual and group interventions in a variety of environments (ward, hospital & community based facilities). Service requirements may occasionally involve some flexibility of work.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic, compassionate, creative and keenly motivated to join our well established and innovative teams at Guild Lodge, working within the women's service pathway. You will be part of a team working alongside staff and service users to promote the importance of occupation and meaningful activities as part of an individual's recovery journey.

Your role will entail working alongside the wider multi-disciplinary team and under close supervision of the occupational therapy service. We have a range of excellent environments and opportunities for services users - namely a large Therapeutic Resources Centre & Sports Hall (that includes pottery, art, library, kitchen, gym facilities) as well as the Tarnbrook Vocational Unit (this includes opportunities for work and qualifications) as well as a the Gleadale Social Centre.
