Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Paediatric Nurse seeking to undertake an interesting and highly rewarding clinical leadership and service development role.

This is a new opportunity following the success of current business developments in the CPOC team. Recent expansion is now requiring a dedicated clinical business role to continue to develop and refine the current service model to enable more package of care to be provided by the team across a Lancashire and South Cumbria footprint.

The CPOC Team provides nursing and specialist healthcare to Children & Young People (CYP) in their own homes and schools who have an identified health need against the continuing care criteria. Support from a package of care facilitates the transfer home from hospital for many CYP and enables their families to manage their child's complex health needs within the community to achieve an active life within their community.

The role will take responsibility for developing the clinical business model to expand the service across the ICB footprint, being responsible for excellent standards of care within each place based team as well as developing new joint service initiatives with the ICB to meet current gaps in commissioning.

The service role will require significant liaison with families and professionals across the region as well as Integrated Care Boards (ICB) to ensure safe and effective care.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be accountable for the operational and clinical management of the Children's Packages of Care Team across the Lancashire and South Cumbria footprint. The post holder will be responsible for the financial management of the service including contract negotiations with the Integrated Care Board in relation to specific packages of care for children under the Continuing Healthcare remit.

The post holder will ensure that robust systems for continuous improvement and quality improvement are in place and that services delivered are cost effective, safe and comply with local and national guidance.

The post holder will provide clinical and professional leadership to the team, based on evidence based practice, whilst ensuring that all internal and external delivery targets are met. The post holder will work as part of the senior leadership team and will ensure systems align with the professional standards for registration.

The post holder will have significant paediatric nursing experience, including both acute and community. The post holder will demonstrate high level, expert clinical skills and knowledge.

A key role for the post holder will be leading and implementing service developments to drive forward future business for the service. The post holder will undertake service developments to support the on-going development of the Children's Packages of Care team.
