Hours: Part time (0.60wte) hours available.
Base: Shadsworth Children's Centre, Blackburn
Are you a qualified Speech & Language Therapist or a Speech & Language Therapy student qualifying in 2024 and wanting to use your skills working with children, young people and their families?
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated qualified/qualifying speech & language therapist to join our experienced and friendly Blackburn with Darwen based locality team. Applications from those qualifying in the near future are welcomed.
We work with children and young people aged 0- 19 with well-developed and evidenced based pathways covering the needs of children with communication needs. The Children's Therapies Service has a strong network of Clinical Leads who offer clinical, management and safeguarding supervision. As a service we are committed to continued professional development which is supported through Speech & Language Therapy Forums and other training opportunities.
Main duties of the job
The team comprises of speech and language therapists and occupational therapists consisting of both therapists and assistants. We work closely with colleagues in health, education and social care to provide a genuinely child-centred service. We work in a variety of locations, including clinics, children's own homes, nurseries and schools.
It is an exciting time to join our team as you would be involved in developing our services to support wider workforce understanding around speech, language and communication development whilst supporting their self-management. This is led by a multidisciplinary management team.
The successful candidate must be able to effectively manage their own time, and demonstrate excellent communication skills. An interest in working with children and their families is essential.
