Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and reliable Band 5 mental health professional (nurse, social worker or occupational therapist) to join our team in the Acute Therapy Service (ATS) based in Preston.

The successful post holder will have experience of working in Mental Health Services and will hold the relevant professional qualifications as shown on the Person Specification. As this is a DBT led service the post holder will need to support the team to ensure that the service is model adherent. The duties will include supporting service users to implement coping strategies learned in the ATS service. You will also deliver groups, assess risk and provide structured psychological interventions for individuals attending the service.

You will receive regular management and clinical supervision, with opportunities to develop clinical and professional practice to enable you to deliver DBT informed approaches in line with service user needs and organizational values.

Main duties of the job

The overall aim of the post is to support the provision of high quality specialist interventions within a therapeutic environment to improve outcomes for service users across LCFT.

To promote positive attitudes towards service users with complex needs, to maintain responsive and non-stigmatizing services, which will enhance social inclusion and deliver better outcomes.

To work closely/strengthen links with other specialist agencies as appropriate.

To provide gatekeeping assessments, assessments of need and therapeutic interventions.

Supporting service users to develop skills and strategies to manage emotional dysregulation, this work is guided by Dialectical Behaviour Therapy principles.
