Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a flexible individual who would like to join the well established and successful Phlebotomy Team for Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust.

The service was established in 2002 and has grown in size over the years to meet demand. It is an extremely busy service.

Core hours will be over five days 8am to 4pm but there is always opportunities for evening or weekend hours.

Previous experience in Phlebotomy is desirable although training will be given to suitable candidates.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking highly motivated and caring staff who would like to make adifference to our patients lives.

The role will require you to work clinically in appointment based or walk in sessions in Phlebotomy Clinics within a variety of settings to include, GP practices and Community Clinics. The service also provides a Domiciliary Service to our housebound population.

The Community Phlebotomist role requires the post holder to mentor staff in the team, providing support and encouragement. You will also be able to contribute towards service improvements with ability to think dynamically.

We are looking for a committed and compassionate Phlebotomist who puts the patient at the heart of everything they do. You will be motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic with excellent communication skills. You will also possess the ability to work equally on your own initiative or as part of a Team.
