"Really enjoyed the classes"
Just some of the great feedback we have received recently from our service users and now we have an exciting opportunity for a qualified physiotherapist within our multidisciplinary community respiratory service. This would suit a physiotherapist with experience in respiratory care looking to consolidate and further develop their skills. We would also invite applications from physiotherapists with transferable skills and wanting to further their skills and knowledge in respiratory care. You will join our multidisciplinary team providing a specialist service for respiratory patients across the Preston, Chorley and South Ribble localities.
Main duties of the job
You will primarily be involved with delivery of the successful Central Lancashire Pulmonary Rehabilitation programme and the Quality Improvement journey the service has begun recently towards national accreditation. Other services we deliver include airway clearance, breathlessness and anxiety management and energy conservation to patients at home or in clinics. Our main ethos is supporting people who live with long term respiratory conditions to be the best that they can be and providing the self-management tools to empower them to maintain this.
CPD is actively encouraged, through internal and external training opportunities, clinical supervision and peer support. We welcome students on placements from local universities, giving opportunities for development of teaching, supervision and mentoring skills.
You should have previous experience of working with patients with respiratory conditions. You will have the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, be able to manage your own workload and share your skills and knowledge with patients, carers and other health professionals. The therapy team currently provide a service from 0830-1630 Monday-Friday but this could change in response to the needs of the service. The COPD home support service is provided from 0800-2000, 7 days a week which is covered on a rota/shift basis.
There are office bases in the Minerva Health Centre and Buckshaw Health Centre.
