Job summary

Blackpool Community Mental Health Team is seeking to appoint a 2 Band 6 Community Mental Health Practitioners (SCM). These posts provide the opportunity for forward thinking and enthusiastic individuals to develop and implement safe, sound and supportive services that embrace the provision of holistic/evidence based care. With a strong emphasis on multidisciplinary working. You will need to be an innovative thinker and be able to form effective relationships.

Main duties of the job

You will also need to have a working knowledge of the Structured Clinical Management, risk assessments, care planning, safety planning and Dialog+. The ability to explore issues relating to the impact of health and social needs on mental health and well-being.

Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.

  • Recognised Core Mental Health Professional Qualification (e.g. RMN, SW, OT)

Knowledge

Essential

  • In-depth knowledge of mental health problems.
  • Knowledge around a variety of personality presentations.
  • In-depth knowledge of issues that impact upon people with mental health problems.
  • Detailed knowledge of the impact of risk and protective factors that affect people with mental health problems
  • Knowledge of medication prescribed for management of mental health issues

Experience

Essential

  • Post qualification experience of clinical work and assessment with service users experiencing a range of mental health problems.
  • Experience of working with people who have a diagnosis of personality disorder and other mental illness
