Job summary
Are you an enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist with a passion for providing and developing high quality, coordinated Stroke specialist rehabilitation? If so, we have the opportunity you are looking for.
You will undertake the role of specialist Speech and Language Therapist working as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide a dynamic specialist integrated stroke care.
You will be working both in the community and at Albion Mill which is a new 'state of the art' facility which also offers rehabilitation as part of the stroke pathway. Over the coming months the service will be developing an early intensive intervention pathway, alongside routine care, and this role will be pivotal in leading change and supporting staff.
We hold regular team meetings, demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development and encourage clinical development.
Clinical supervision will be provided by therapists in Central Lancashire.This post will be part of the seven day/bank holiday rota, as the service develops.

Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the assessment, treatment, planning, delivery and evaluation of evidence -based highly specialised speech and language intervention within the areas of:
- Stroke
- Rehabilitation
This post offers an exciting opportunity as we are working towards the delivery of a Pennine Lancashire single stroke model including an integrated team. The post holder would have a key role in driving service development and ensuring excellent Speech and Language Therapy provision for Blackburn with Darwen residents.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required together with good organizational and time management skills. Flexibility in working patterns to meet the needs of the service is essential over 7 days a week. You will have access to transport.
