Job summary

Pennine Lancashire is seeking experienced Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse's to joinEdisford Ward at our Pendleview unit, Royal Blackburn Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity and the successful candidate will be part of an evolving service that has the needs of our service users at its heart. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic to come and join a forward thinking, dynamic and constantly developing team.

You must have proven clinical skills along with excellent communication skills, good knowledge and understanding of adult mental health and the needs of individuals. You will also need to have a working knowledge of the care programme approach, NICE guidance and enhanced risk assessment and the ability to explore issues relating to the impact of health and social needs on mental health and well-being.

Main duties of the job

Inpatient wards / units are designed to meet the acute holistic needs of service users/patients and carers, in a recovery focussed environment. This working environment is conducive to staff development and wellbeing. The post holder will support staff members in the assessment, planning and provision of care in line with national and local nursing and health and safety policy. The post holder will exercise professional accountability and responsibility demonstrating use of professional skills, knowledge and expertise in the provision of high quality care. There is an expectation that the post holder will utilise research audit and enquiry to lead improvements in care.
