Job summary
Inpatient wards / units are designed to meet the acute holistic needs of service users/patients and carers, in a recovery focussed environment. This working environment is conducive to staff development and wellbeing. To actively promote teamwork, respect, integrity, accountability, excellence and compassion within the clinical team in accordance with the Trust values and code of conduct.
To provide nurse leadership within the multidisciplinary team and ensure the effective assessment formulation planning, monitoring of care given to inpatient service users.
To provide leadership to oversee and ensure all contacts with service users are recorded promptly and accurately and are of a high standard.
Provision of information and participate as requested, to assist service development and Clinical Governance requirements e.g. surveys, audits etc.
You must have proven clinical skills along with excellent communication skills, good knowledge and understanding of adult mental health and the needs of individuals. You will also need to have a working knowledge of the care programme approach, NICE guidance and enhanced risk assessment and the ability to explore issues relating to the impact of health and social needs on mental health and well-being.
Main duties of the job
The Inpatient unit based at Pendleview and Hillview at Blackburn hospital is designed to meet the holistic needs of service users/patients and carers, in a working environment conducive to staff development and wellbeing.

Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
