Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for 12 months backfill cover for a Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our newly formed, innovative, adult mental health team which is integrated into Lancashire's Family Safeguarding Service. The area of work is Trustwide and flexible.
The service is funded by Lancashire County Council to provide specialist assessment and treatment for parents of children open to the Family Safeguarding Service who have identified mental health difficulties which are impacting upon their ability to safeguard their children.
We are looking for an organised, compassionate, and reflective individual who is passionate about working collaboratively with families to safeguard children.The post holder will join the Adult Mental Health Team which is attached to the Family Safeguarding Service - the team consists of the 8C consultant clinical psychologist (clinical lead) and the 8B principal clinical psychologist as well as the 8A senior clinical psychologist, plus Mental Health Practitioners and Assistant Psychologists.

Main duties of the job
To provide a qualified Clinical Psychology Service to patients of the nominated teams including the provision of enhanced specialist psychological assessment and therapy, working within the policies, procedures and protocols applicable to the service
To offer advice and consultation on patients' psychological care to psychology and non-psychology colleagues and to other, non-professional carers, autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures. To develop advanced skills in consultancy by implementing formal systems of consultancy within the nominated team (s), as directed and guided by your Locality Professional Lead and and their deputies.
The role will involve a mixture of direct and indirect clinical work with parents, and may also involve providing line management and clinical supervision to the team's Assistant Psychologists and Mental Health Practitioners. The post-holder will provide psychological assessment, consultation and intervention to parents/partners open to the Family Safeguarding Service, as well as attending management meetings, team meetings, and group supervision as needed.
To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area in which the postholder works.
