Job summary

The NHS Talking Therapies Service (as part of Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust) offer this great opportunity to work as a Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner.

We are currently recruiting for 3 positions of which there is a vacancy in each of the following Teams Preston, West Lancashire and Fylde and Wyre. These roles are offered on a full time permanent basis.

You will be supervising a team of dynamic and committed qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs) and trainees as well as providing leadership to those staff in terms of performance and well-being.

You must be a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner who can provide evidence of consolidated post qualification experience working within the PWP role including PWP registration with BABCP or BPS.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide a high quality Talking Therapies service to adults with mild to moderate mental health problems including those with a degree of complexity.
  • To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of Trust and local policies and procedure.
  • To provide high quality clinical supervision and mentoring to PWPs including trainees supported by the regular integration of caseload management principles within clinical supervision provision.
  • To deliver and support the delivery of an IAPT service in accordance with NICE guidelines, to meet key performance indicators and agreed activity levels.
  • To provide advice and consultation on clients' care, to other colleagues and non-professional carers.
  • To utilise research skills to support audit, service development and research within the areas served by the team.
  • To work with and support the team lead and Service Manager in actively managing waiting lists
  • To promote wellbeing and social inclusion.
  • To work flexibly and in accordance with service demands.
  • To work to the agreed number of clinical contacts per week as set by the Team Lead.
