We are looking to recruit an experienced Older Adult Psychology Locality Lead for The Bay (Lancaster and Morecambe, South Lakes and Furness)

We expect candidates to bring a real passion and enthusiasm for older adult work, with a range of experience in community and inpatient areas. In this post you will provide professional leadership to a team of psychologists working into Later Life and Memory Services, a Community Mental Health Team, a Rapid Intervention and Treatment Team, a Memory Assessment Service and an Older Adult Inpatient Ward.

You will be supported by the network psychology lead, and will work alongside operational, clinical and other colleagues to ensure an excellent service for older people in the locality.

The successful post holder will be responsible for supervision of junior colleagues and will also work clinically into older adult services in the area, according to need. You will be joining a thriving and supportive older adult psychology specialty, and you will also link with psychology leads from across the mental health network, which incorporates adult mental health and secure services, at regular meetings.

For informal enquiries please contact us on the details provided.

Main duties of the job

The Bay is a great place to be a psychologist. You would be a welcome member of the psychology workforce, both locally and within the Trust, with exciting and creative development opportunities available. There is a genuine focus on clinical professional development, peer support and networking with colleagues, and should you be interested, you would have the rare opportunity to consider training as an approved clinician, under the guidance of the Network ADO psychologist who has undertaken this process.

The post holder will work as a senior member of the service to assist in providing clinical leadership and strategic service development to the clinical teams and services. The post holder will work closely with other senior clinical and managerial staff within the locality/specialty area to provide a psychological perspective to service planning, service development and clinical service transformation across the locality/specialty area.

The post holder will be expected to lead on a designated area of psychological development, governance or implementation across the locality/specialty e.g. the development and embedding of Psychologically Informed Interventions.

It is also expected that the post-holder will retain a caseload and provide a specialist clinical role within the service team where they are based.
