Job summary

Our Mental Health In-Patient services have had an exciting investment initiative leading to the creation of new posts within the Allied Health Professional services in The Bay area at Dane Garth, Barrow.

This provides an opportunity for successful applicants to deliver specialist therapeutic input to the mental health team for Dietetics, Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. Main duties of the job

Provide a high standard of specialist physiotherapy input to the mental health physiotherapy team. Hours required to be worked over 5 days, Monday to Friday, between 08.30am and 16:30pm, depending on service need.

To assess and treat inpatients within an inpatient ward setting as an autonomous practitioner

Physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, to provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.

Hold responsibility for own complex caseload and be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type, working without direct supervision.

The post holder will ensure their own personal development and participate in the development of others

To supervise, educate and assess the performance of physiotherapy students to ensure the standard of practice and teaching meets the degree standard

Undertake evidence-based audit and contribute to research projects. Make recommendations to clinical lead/manager for service improvement
