Physician Associate, Forensic Psychiatry - Preston

We are delighted to advertise this exciting new post for a Physician Associate to work with the Secure Services team based at Guild Lodge, Whittingham, Preston. The post is full time (37.5 hours per week). The working pattern will be Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm. This post will provide you with an excellent opportunity to gain experience of psychiatry, whilst further developing your skills as a Physician Associate. It will provide you with the opportunity to gain experience working with people who have severe and enduring mental illness and contact with the criminal justice system.

Main duties of the job

You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team in Forensic Psychiatry, under the supervision of a Consultant Psychiatrist. The main part of this role will involve supporting the clinical management of patients, both with their mental and physical health needs. You will have a weekly timetable that will outline your clinical commitments such as ward rounds, handovers, supervision and training. There will be support to help you develop skills in mental state examination and other elements of mental healthcare.
