Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for dynamic and self-motivated individuals to work for Mindsmatter Improving Access to Psychological Therapy (IAPT) Service

The Mindsmatter service has dedicated teams of Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs), Cognitive Behavioural Therapists and Counsellors who offer a range of support to help people make positive changes to reduce stress and anxiety and improve their wellbeing.

An opportunity exists for a suitably qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, who is passionate about providing meaningful and effective therapeutic experiences to address common mental health problems, to join the Pendle and Ribble Valley Mindsmatter team. Pendle and Ribble Valley.

Applicants who have not completed their training as a CBT therapist will not be considered. Applicants need to be BACP fully accredited.

Mindsmatter CBT Therapists offer accessible screening, assessment and treatment for mild to moderate mental health problems, giving service users a greater degree of choice and flexibility by providing an extensive menu of therapies including psycho-education courses, 1:1 therapy, and group and computerised CBT programs.

You will have a proven track record of delivering high quality service outcomes against robust performance measures and have excellent interpersonal qualities; time management skills; an ability to work autonomously; and an enthusiasm for working in an ever-developing IAPT environment.

Main duties of the job

To provide high quality CBT to adults with common mental health problems including those with a degree of complexity.

To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of team policies and procedure.

To provide clinical supervision and mentoring to cognitive behavioral therapists and trainees.

To deliver a CBT service in accordance with NICE guidelines, meeting key performance indicators and agreed activity levels.

To work to the agreed model and number of clinical contacts per week as set by the service

To provide advice and consultation on clients' care, to non-CBT colleagues and to non-professional carers.

To utilise research skills for audit policy and service development and research within the areas served by the team.

To deliver and support the delivery of CBT within agreed activity levels and an agreed model.

To work with the Team Leader and Clinical Leads to provide a co-production role in managing waiting times, prevalence and recovery

To promote wellbeing and social inclusion.

To take lead role / clinical specialty in a designated areas of work i.e. LTC, Older adults, veterans, etc.

To provide clinical leadership at team/locality level, taking a lead role in service development, including engaging and working with other agencies

Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.

  • ormally recognised Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Post Graduate (Master's Level) diploma
  • CBT Full Accreditation with BABCP
  • AND Professional qualification in health or social care, e.g. RMN or Social Worker OR KSA equivalence

Knowledge

Essential

  • Highly developed specialist knowledge of the theory and practice of cognitive behaviour therapy.
  • Extensive theoretical and clinical Knowledge of the theory and practice of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy in specific difficult to treat groups (e.g. personality disorder, dual diagnoses, people with additional disabilities etc.). and disorder specific models
  • Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.

Experience

Essential

  • Evidence of substantial post-qualification experience of delivering specialist Cognitive Behaviour Therapy assessment and treatment of clients in Adult Mental Health.
  • A broad range of experience of working with a wide variety of clients that reflect the full range of clinical severity including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of providing clinical supervision, utilising appropriate supervision models
