Specialty Doctor - All age Liaison Psychiatry, Royal Preston Hospital (10PA)

We are seeking to recruit a substantive Specialty Doctor in All Age Liaison Psychiatry to work at Royal Preston Hospital. The post is full time (10 PAs).

Main duties of the job

The Mental Health Liaison Service is available to inpatients of all ages who are presenting with Mental Health issues. The service aims to provide a service for inpatients with a physical illness and co-existent psychiatric disorder, physical symptoms of psychological origin, psychiatric crisis and emergencies and episodes of self-harm. This is based at Royal Preston Hospital site. The team aims to see referrals for assessment on the day of the referral and gate keeping clients within 1 hour of the request. The main clinical duties are arranged around conducting assessments and clinics for new patients and follow up reviews.

There may be the opportunity to join the On Call rota, for which additional remuneration is available.

About us

To be eligible to apply for this post, you must possess at least 3 year's experience in psychiatry and be fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice. Ideally, you will be Section 12 Approved, or eligible for approval at the time of commencing employment.
