Job summary
We are looking for a suitably qualified Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly community based SLT team. You will be offered professional leadership; support from our Assistant; a robust induction; preceptership if newly qualified; personal development plan identifying CPD needs including dysphagia training; part of a wider SLT and AHP network with opportunities to join clinical network and research forums.
We are looking for a flexible and self-motivated individual to work alongside our team, which is comprised of a Band 7 Team Lead, Band 6 Specialist SLT and a Band 4 Assistant.
Main duties of the job
You will be highly motivated and a conscientious team player with excellent communication and analytical skills gained through previous experience. You will have the opportunity to manage patients with progressive neurological conditions such as Parkinsons, MS, Huntingtons and Dementia amongst other neurological conditions. External Dysphagia training will be provided in addition to supervision and clinical joint working within the team.
You should have the ability to travel within Central Lancashire and be able to manage and prioritise your own caseload.
The successful applicant will be expected to be flexible to meet the needs of the service. A commitment to working independently within a large geographical area with close liaison and collaboration with other professionals and carers will be vital .You will be offered supervision and support by senior therapists
