An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our expanding and highly supportive team for the role of a Band 6/7 Mental Health pharmacist dependent on experience. £32,306 to £39,027 (Band 6) £40,057 - £45,839 (Band 7). 37.5 hours per week pro rata.

Main duties of the job
The post is based at The Orchard which is an 18 bedded mixed sex acute adult mental health unit in Lancaster.
The role offers the ideal job opportunity for a pharmacist who may wish to enhance their knowledge within the mental health field. We also welcome applications from soon-to qualify or newly-qualified pharmacists to develop within this area of specialty. A successful applicant could be employed at a Band 7 level if they are able to demonstrate the necessary skills and experience in the field. For applicants recruited at Band 6 level, we will support the progression to a Band 7 role on successfully demonstrating the relevant clinical/professional competencies required to fulfil this role.
Hospital and/or mental health experience is desirable but not essential as we have an in-house award-winning training programme to support the successful candidate. We are also able to offer the successful candidate the opportunity to complete the Aston University distance learning Postgraduate Certificate in Psychiatric Therapeutics, which is accredited by the College of Mental Health Pharmacy (CMHP). Other courses and training events are available to support future clinical, professional and personal development.

Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
