Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for dynamic and self-motivated individuals to work for Mindsmatter Improving Access to Psychological Therapy (IAPT) Service

The Mindsmatter service has dedicated teams of Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs), Cognitive Behavioural Therapists and Counsellors who offer a range of support to help people make positive changes to reduce stress and anxiety and improve their wellbeing.

An opportunity exists for several suitably qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapists, who are passionate about providing meaningful and effective therapeutic experiences to address common mental health problems, to join the Mindsmatter teams in Fylde and Wyre. Fylde and Wyre is a beautiful part of the UK and has lots to offer in terms of activities, stunning scenery and community.

Applicants who have not completed their training as a CBT therapist will not be considered.

Main duties of the job

Mindsmatter CBT Therapists offer accessible screening, assessment and treatment for mild to moderate mental health problems, giving service users a greater degree of choice and flexibility by providing an extensive menu of therapies including psycho-education courses, 1:1 therapy, and group and computerised CBT programs.

You will have a proven track record of delivering high quality service outcomes against robust performance measures and have excellent interpersonal qualities; time management skills; an ability to work autonomously; and an enthusiasm for working in an ever-developing IAPT environment.

Mindsmatter is an innovative and forward thinking service. We provide rapid accessible mental health screening, assessment and treatment whilst enabling people accessing the service to have a collaborative role in the choice of intervention they receive.

  • Formally recognised Cognitive Behaviour Therapy to Post Graduate diploma level
  • AND Professional qualification in health or social care, e.g. RMN or Social Worker. OR KSA equivalence
  • Evidence of working towards BABCP practitioner accreditation. And commitment to complete accreditation within 2 years of appointment

Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge in relation to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy theory and practice to post-graduate level.
  • Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.
  • Knowledge of the IAPT model.
  • An understanding of the key performance indicators in IAPT services and how they relate to clinical practice.
  • Evidence of ability to develop and evaluate areas of care and treatment.

  • Experience of promoting well being and social inclusion
