A newly qualified Clinical Psychologist / experienced Counselling Psychologist are able to apply for this post on a Band 7 preceptorship (37.5 hours)
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Clinical Psychologist or Counselling Psychologist, who has accredited training to a post graduate level or equivalent, currently registered with HCPC or BABCP, who have post qualification experience working with children, young people and their families.
We have the option of appointment to a part-time (22.5 hours) 8a post for a suitably qualified and experienced Clinical Psychologist or a Band 7 preceptorship (37.5 hours) for a newly qualified Clinical Psychologist or experienced Counselling Psychologist.
The core role will be to provide a specialist psychological assessment, formulation and intervention with children, young people and their families/carers. We support our staff to deliver high quality and innovative psychological solutions with service-users through consultation, individual, systemic/family, and group work.
In addition to core child clinical psychology services, you would be given the opportunity to develop special interests and expertise, in line with service objectives.
Main duties of the job
This is a time of change and new opportunities for the Child & Adolescent Mental Health & Child Psychology Integrated Services in Preston. This is a community service based at Ellen House in Preston.
We are committed to CPD and there will be opportunities for post-qualification support, supervision and consolidation of core and specialist competencies, alongside more experienced colleagues both locally and across the region. All clinical psychologists have an agreed Job Plan which protects their core clinical commitments and allocated time for other aspects of their roles.
As well as having a clinical caseload, there will also be opportunities to develop and consolidate clinical and leadership skills, through indirect work, consultation, delivering training, and service development/audit activities. Where required, we will also support staff to develop competencies in clinical supervision, as part of their professional development plan.
We regularly take trainees from the North West Clinical Psychology training courses and encourage staff to offer core and specialist placements to trainees.
