Job summary

  • To provide high quality CBT to adults with common mental health problems including those with a degree of complexity.
  • To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of team policies and procedure.
  • To provide clinical supervision and mentoring to cognitive behavioral therapists and trainees.
  • To deliver a CBT service in accordance with NICE guidelines, meeting key performance indicators and agreed activity levels.
  • To work to the agreed model and number of clinical contacts per week as set by the service
  • To provide advice and consultation on clients' care, to non-CBT colleagues and to non-professional carers.
  • To utilise research skills for audit policy and service development and research within the areas served by the team.
  • To deliver and support the delivery of CBT within agreed activity levels and an agreed model.
  • To work with the Team Leader and Clinical Leads to provide a co-production role in managing waiting times, prevalence and recovery

Main duties of the job

An existing opportunity exists for several suitably qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapists, who are passionate about providing meaningful and effective therapeutic experiences to address common mental health problems, to join the Fylde and Wyre Mindsmatter team (IAPT Services).

Mindsmatter CBT Therapists offer accessible screening to ensure appropriate referrals to the service, assessment and treatment for mild to moderate mental health problems, giving service users a greater degree of choice and flexibility by providing an extensive menu of therapies including psycho-education courses, 1:1 therapy, and group and computerised CBT programs.

You will have a proven track record of delivering high quality service outcomes against robust performance measures and have excellent interpersonal qualities; time management skills; an ability to work autonomously; and an enthusiasm for working in an ever-developing IAPT environment.

  • Formally recognised Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Post Graduate (Master's Level) diploma
  • CBT Accreditation with BABCP
  • AND Professional qualification in health or social care, e.g. RMN or Social Worker OR KSA equivalence

Knowledge

Essential

  • Highly developed specialist knowledge of the theory and practice of cognitive behaviour therapy.
  • Extensive theoretical and clinical Knowledge of the theory and practice of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy in specific difficult to treat groups (e.g. personality disorder, dual diagnoses, people with additional disabilities etc.). and disorder specific models
  • Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.
