Clinical Supervisor for Trainee Associate Psychological Practitioners
Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust
This job is now closed
Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated supervisors to help (Trainee) Associate Psychological Practitioners (T)APPs learn and develop within their job role across numerous primary care networks and community settings.
We have funding for up to 1.2 FTE Clinical Supervisors. We would consider someone who wanted a full-time role, or someone who wanted to offer one day a week to this project. We are looking for people to start from April 2022 and the contract runs until April 2023.
It is anticipated that a significant part of this job role may be delivered remotely, although there may be occasions when you will be required to attend the service where the TAPP is placed.
We are looking for clinical supervisors who are an appropriately registered psychological professional. This may be a Clinical Psychologist, a CBT therapist, or an accredited psychological practitioner.
Main duties of the job
The TAPPs is a new role and cohort 2 are about to start their training. The role has been developed as part of a drive to increase access routes into psychological professions, availability of psychological practitioners in practice, and to broaden population access to psychological theory and intervention. The TAPPs positions are the result of an exciting collaboration between Health Education England (HEE), the Innovation Agency North West Coast (NWC), University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) and Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation trust (LSCFT). Together, we are now committed to providing excellent clinical support to the TAPPs whilst they are based in General Practice and community settings across the Lancashire and South Cumbria footprint.
Across primary care and community settings, the TAPPs work will have a significant focus upon mental health prevention and promotion approaches. Historically, there has been a greater focus upon the promotion and prevention of physical health factors in primary care. However, as the recognition of there being 'no health without mental health' and a push for 'parity of esteem', there is now a greater focus upon mental health promotion and prevention and we are excited to be able to offer this service across the Trust.
So if you are passionate about supporting the development of others then please do apply.
