An exciting opportunity has arisen for band 5 Mental Health Nurses who are currently registered or due to register with the NMC. We have a number of opportunities on Keats Ward at the Harbour.
Keats Ward is a Male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit, and provides assessments and interventions for patients, and operates seven days a week and is accessible 24hrs per day.
The teams work very closely to support each other and there is a clear focus on the professional development of all of our staff. This is supported through mentorship, supervision, training, teaching sessions and our internal Quality Improvement Team. Included in this support program is acomprehensive preceptorship package for newly qualified nurses.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for highly motivated Staff nurses who can demonstrate excellent clinical and interpersonal qualities. The successful candidate must be willing to work as part of a Multi-disciplinary Team to deliver high quality person centered care in a fast paced environment. They must also have a positive outlook and be able to engage with patients, carers and other stakeholders, which a key priority.
If successful, you will be given the opportunity to choose from long days, short shifts or a combination of both. If you are working long days, this will consist of 13 shifts in 28 days. If you are working short shifts, this will be 5 short shifts a week with a combination of Early and Late shifts. If you choose to combine the two, you will work two long shifts and two short shifts per week. There will also be an expectation to rotate onto night shifts.
In addition, the successful post holder will be expected to rotate across the different wards at The Harbour.
