Job summary
We are very excited within the Bay Locality, to be developing our new Initial Response Service (IRS) service. This service will provide a front door to all of our mental health services with in the Bay providing a 24/7 call handling, triage, planned care and crisis response function.
We are looking for experienced mental health practitioners at band 6 to join this new service. You will be will be a highly motivated, pro-active individual who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, lots of initiative and who may be looking for your next challenge. You will demonstrate the right values, putting the needs of our service user at the heart of all you do.
The posts will be based within the Bay locality, and work as part of our new IRS centres and urgent care pathway (UCP) / home treatment teams(HTT). The service is due to open in April 2022 and Successful candidates will be able to negotiate a start date and in anticipation of the opening of this service will be able to join us as part of our urgent care pathway to assist in the development of the new service and ensure smooth transition.
Main duties of the job
You will be key to the new service, providing a responsive single point of access for urgent and routine requests for help, including signposting to relevant services within and outside of LSCFT. A crucial part of the design is to enable this service to work alongside the HTT and RITT therefore sharing skills and experience, promoting positive learning and development for all staff within their roles. This would also offer flexibility to staff and the service. In addition, staff will all have interchangeable roles across the Initial Response Service. This will enable HTT and RITT practitioners to rotate into the IRS allowing the new service to flex to meet demand within the Planned Care (routine triage), Urgent Triage and Crisis Response functions.
