Job summary
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic to come and join a forward thinking, dynamic and constantly developing team.
You must have excellent communication skills, and a good working knowledge and understanding of adult mental health and the needs of individuals in this group. You will have good working knowledge of the Mental Health Act, and the wider mental health agenda.
Applications are invited from experienced and self-motivated qualified nurses with leadership qualities and a passion for developing staff of all grades and from a variety of differing health professions.
The post is to support clinicians and managers in developing quality mental health services that reflect contemporary practice and complement the aspirations of national guidance and local health improvement programmes, whilst meeting the Trusts Clinical Governance agenda.
To lead and support practice development initiatives prioritised in inpatient services as required to facilitate the delivery of evidence based high quality care.
To take a lead on the internal Preceptorship Programme, planning and delivering training to help our newly qualified nurses make the transition from student to registered professional smoothly.
To develop systems of benchmarking, audit and evaluation in order to measure and monitor standards of practice as part of the inpatient clinical governance team.
Main duties of the job
- To support clinicians and managers in developing quality mental health services that reflect contemporary practice and complement the aspirations of national guidance and local health improvement programmes, whilst meeting the Trusts Clinical Governance agenda.
- To lead and support practice development initiatives prioritised in inpatient services as required to facilitate the delivery of evidence based high quality care.
- Via inpatient service governance meets and in collaboration with other practice development leads promote the sharing of best practice and practice development initiatives
- To work with Modern Matrons and Ward Manager colleagues to ensure the sustainability of practice development initiatives.
- To develop systems of benchmarking, audit and evaluation in order to measure and monitor standards of practice as part of the inpatient clinical governance team.
- To lead service developments as required by Modern Matron
